Colourful end to Birla cultural meet

 

DOHA: The cultural competitions organised by Birla Public School ended recently with a colourful presentation by the prize winners of various events at the school auditorium.

Over 3,000 students enthusiastically participated in 24 events in four categories – Junior 1, Junior II, Intermediate and Senior.

The programme was conducted separately for boys and girls.

The events included both on-stage programmes like B h a r a t h a n a t y a m , Mohiniyattom, folk dance and off-stage competitions like literary and art contests.

Apart from the individual competitions, there were group events like group songs, group dances and oneact plays during the monthlong cultural fiesta.

During the closing ceremony, prizes and certificates were awarded to top performers in the events. In the Junior 1 category (class 3), Devjith Mathew was adjudged the Kalaapratibha and Maizah Maharoof was awarded the Kalaathilakam title. Neha Elsa Thomas was selected as the best individual artist of the category.

In the junior II category (classes 4 and 5) Haarish Ramalingam and Sreelakshmi Suresh received the Kalaapratibha and Kalathilakam titles respectively.

Amalendu K was presented the prize for the best individual artist. V.Santosh Narayan was adjudged the best performer of off-stage events.
